Dr. Chris Nelson received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Temple University. He then went on to obtain his Doctorate degree in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Nelson has been practicing since 2016 and has been consistently driven to help his patients of all ages and abilities return to their favorite activities. He obtained his dry needling certification through Kinetacore in 2017. In 2021, Dr. Nelson became a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and was accepted into a sports residency program. During his sports residency, Dr. Nelson worked with athletes across the spectrum from amateur to elite professionals both in the clinic and on the sidelines. His residency culminated with a poster presentation at the APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting, as well as his second certification as a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist.
During his career, Dr. Nelson has worked with The Catholic University of America, Marymount University, Old Glory DC of Major League Rugby, and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. He has also published a systematic review journal article on postoperative ACL research.
Growing up, Dr. Nelson played basketball, baseball, and was a sprinter in track & field. As a native Washingtonian, Dr. Nelson enjoys cheering for his hometown sports teams, as well as spending time with his family, exercising, and gaming.
